Atlantic Health System is on the front lines of modern medicine, leading the way in cardiac services, stroke care and CyberKnife robotic technology.
But while they were spending all their time and effort saving lives, their online employee portal was on life support.
The site—which housed more than 1,500 pages of content and serviced more than 10,000 employees across 10 locations—was visually dated, poorly organized and published on an archaic platform.

We went on a mission to find out what was causing employees the most frustration. That meant extensive interviews, focus groups, and user surveys to identify their most critical tasks and most common pain points.
Then we created a new site architecture, navigation and design that’s more task-oriented—making it easier for employees to get to the tools, assets and information they need most.
The results were immediate. Traffic increased by over 200%, page views increased by 61% and time spent on the site (for the right reasons) went up by 700%.
