Strategist, Practice Area Lead, Education

The Strategist & Practice Area Lead (PAL), Education, is a VP-level thinker and doer who understands the trends, challenges and opportunities in education and can turn that knowledge into actionable brand, marketing, digital experience, advertising, enrollment, and advancement strategies for Primacy’s education clients. Become an indispensable member of the client team, helping elevate our clients’ businesses and build their brands.

Responsibilities
  • Support achievement of Primacy’s new business revenue goals
  • Identify proactive opportunities to pitch Primacy’s capabilities to targeted prospects while replying to RFPs and other requests for Primacy’s services
  • Work closely with the New Business Team and other Primacy team members to identify opportunities, develop proposals and lead pitch presentations with the goal of securing new work for the company
  • Develop strategies for Primacy clients that support achievement of their brand and business objectives while supporting the company’s client revenue goals
  • Maintain a roster of 5-7 existing clients whose businesses you are deeply familiar with and for whom you provide ongoing consultative support
  • Partner with the Client Services Lead to support long-term client relationships and account growth, including annual strategic planning sessions
  • Become an indispensable advisor to our education clients, building C-Level relationships, and providing ideas and insights, a point of view on trends, etc.
  • Increase reputation and visibility of the Education Practice
  • Develop and implement an annual plan to grow the Education Practice Area 
  • Lead development of thought leadership and marketing materials that convey Primacy’s expertise and attract new clients – includes an annual survey and report on the state of higher education, case studies and blog posts
  • Increase industry awareness of Primacy and its services through earned, owned and paid channels 
  • Seek opportunities to share strategic thinking with the wider education industry through involvement in relevant industry organizations, speaking engagements, published articles, client roundtables, etc.
     
Qualifications
  • 10-15+ years of experience in the fields of marketing, communications, advertising, technology, enrollment, advancement, etc.
  • Client-side experience in the education sector (colleges, universities, ed tech companies, enrollment-driven high schools) is a strong positive
  • Past agency experience focused on the education sector is also a strong positive
  • A college degree. Graduate degree in a relevant/related field is a plus, not a requirement
  • Be comfortable with travel. This role may require travel to various locations on a regular basis for new business pitches, client work, industry conferences, etc.  
  • The ability to drive a strategic and successful approach to new business opportunities with the goal of helping Primacy meet its revenue goals
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to act both independently and as an essential, sought after, collaborative member of the internal team
