Strategic Account Planner

The Strategic Planner plays the lead role in developing and presenting marketing-communications strategy for clients and new business prospects. Your role is to achieve business objectives by uncovering a deeply rooted need that your strategy and execution can fulfill. Critical is uncovering genuine consumer insight and behavioral root cause. At the end of the day, clients need to move more products and services to an ever more complex target market. This requires a person possessing critical thinking skills with the balance of art and science to problem solving.

Responsibilities

Research

  • Directs primary / secondary qualitative and quantitative research
  • Interprets audience behavioral data and trends

Insights

  • Uncovers hidden insights to marketing communication strategies with measurable results
  • Seeks out ‘the why’ to understand behaviors to move one through the sales funnel
  • Briefs and partners with the data, experience, account and content teams

Marketing and Communications Strategy

  • Translates insights into strategic plans that achieve client’s objectives which includes; target segmentation, research methodology, brand, insights and channels
  • Develops and oversees internal marketing communications plans for new business prospects by industry and service line

Presentations/Selling

  • Presents consultative solutions to clients with fresh ideas and ROI’s that represent consumer behaviors that support “why”
  • Translate plans into compelling consumer-bound stories that demonstrate brilliant strategy and tactics.
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will have; 

  • Ability to shape the right kind of research and find those hidden insights
  • High levels of creativity and critical thinking skills
  • Degree in business, marketing communications with concentrations in psychology or sociology helpful
  • Ability to make use of data and connection to the markets with an understanding of the voice of the audience
  • Understand business drivers and the levers to improve them
  • Impeccable presentation skills that engage the audience and command the room
  • Ability to codify and evolve strategic processes along
  • Partners across agency services lines
