Director, User Experience

Primacy seeks a Director, User Experience to work across a range of digital platforms, websites, products and marketing initiatives. The perfect candidate is an inspirational leader passionate about the craft, work, and people. This person will lead teams and large accounts as well as inspire and manage other team members. The Director, User Experience is a seasoned digital disciple, skilled in aligning user-centered design principles with foundational content strategy and design research best practices. This person will be focused on creating research-based, storytelling-rich, customer experiences – and should have a passion for research, data and insights, content strategy and interaction design.

  • Manage multiple tracks of UX work on large portfolios. Working independently as well as guiding teams to meet the high standards of our work.
  • Understand client business needs in the broader context of their digital strategy and translate the needs of client audiences into simple, intuitive, and engaging experiences
  • Formulate experience recommendations that align brand and business objectives across an organization’s marketing ecosystem (particularly digital)
  • Help teams plan and participate in brainstorms, workshops, focus groups, and ideation sessions for internal and client audiences
  • Creates and oversees UX strategy, including journey mapping and persona development 
  • Creates and/or oversees interaction designs, task flow, behavior, and navigation design 
  • Experiments with new methods, tools, and techniques and shares learnings with the team 
  • Provides inspiration and thought leadership to the Experience Design team and larger community 
  • Manages 2-5 team members 
  • Oversees multiple work streams while maintaining exceptional quality and consistency
  • Experience working in a creatively-driven agency environment with a focus on digital experiences
  • 8+ years in UX design, preferably enterprise systems and large-scale content websites
  • Previous experience mentoring/managing UX team members
  • Experience in industries such as Healthcare, Education, and/or Financial Services a plus
  • Proficiency and basic understanding of Content Management Systems and CRM platforms
  • Ability to effectively communicate design decisions, ideas and your approach for clients and internal teams
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment leading or supporting several clients at any given time 
  • Great presentation skills and an impressive portfolio of work you can share
