The digital experience agency Primacy has announced the release of a new Open Source CMS platform, ZenSource. In creating this product, the agency seeks to provide clients with a CMS that pairs robust functionality and fast, simple, scalable website builds, while still accounting for requirements specific to highly regulated industries. Based on a Drupal 8 foundation, ZenSource is cloud-hosted and provides access to a vast array of modules, functionality and web services.

Following a soft launch in Q3 of 2018, Primacy has been serving a number of clients on ZenSource, including healthcare clients in the Boston area, and has a number of site builds planned for completion in 2019. Ongoing platform enhancements will continue to roll out throughout the year, as well as the release of a distribution (currently named Lotus) to the Drupal community.

“After years of site builds ranging in size and complexity, we’ve learned that mid-market clients like the concept of Open Source but have concerns about its quality, customer service, and security, while enterprise software often comes with unnecessary features and a huge price tag” said Stan Valencis, President of Primacy. “ZenSource gives this audience the flexibility of an Open Source platform with the usability and time saving features found in commercial products, as well as a dedicated team of support professionals.”

Jon Stewart, AVP of Product Development and the project lead on ZenSource added, “We’ve found that most existing CMS platforms don’t quite deliver on a number of levels: accessibility, security, and ease-of-use, particularly for marketers and content authors. We see this evidence in training users on how to use different platforms – sometimes it can take users weeks to really understand a CMS and it takes quite some time to create a page. ZenSource was purposely designed to optimize this experience, so users can learn the platform in hours and build pages in minutes.”

Out-of-the-box features include site search, finder tools, content importers, taxonomy news and events, commerce, secure form builders, accessibility compliance, automated QA testing and more. Content modules and templates are available to use in any combination, designed to allow users to get scale quickly and efficiently, while still allowing for full customization.

In addition to the CMS platform features, ZenSource users will also receive services through a dedicated support team including cloud-hosting, support, QA, 24/7 monitoring, guaranteed uptimes, Drupal security updates and more.
