Marketing Manager – Engagement Marketing

The Marketing Manager leads the execution of client initiatives for Engagement Marketing Projects such as Marketing Automation, Email Marketing, CRM and Cross-Platform Integration.  This role could also include management of Marketing projects such as Paid Search Marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Digital Display Advertising, and Social Media Marketing/Advertising.  This position requires the ability to lead client marketing programs, by developing program strategy presentations, optimizing campaigns using media management, website analytics and analysis tools and creating program insight and performance review presentations.

Key responsibilities include:

Engagement Marketing

  • Develop Marketing Strategies, Communication Strategies and Detailed Communication Plans (e.g., Communication Flows, Content Matrices, etc.)
  • Develop Architecture designs for integrated communication systems (e.g., Media, Marketing Automation, Email, CRM, CMS, etc.)
  • Work alongside creative and technical teams (internal/external - client) on: content development, testing, data selection, programs, and integration communication management process
  • Implement cross-channel communication programs (e.g., email, social, sms, etc.)
  • Lead the implementation and integration of Marketing Automation/Email, CRM and CMS platforms
  • Distinguish tracking results and present to client – high level and granular reporting, using tools; GA, Domo, And Google Data Studio
  • Work closely within scope of client SOW and manage whole email process from content selection through tracking analysis
  • Clearly articulates their point of view
  • Engages in constructive debate
  • Ability to gain consensus in a decision making process
  • Communicates day to day business issues both verbally and in written form in a concise and meaningful manner
  • Able to effectively create presentations for most situations

Client Management

  • Proactively manages client/project budgets against agency deliverables
  • Serves as resource for VP/SVP in annual planning/client forecasting and plan building

 Team Building

  • Drives constructive team engagement especially at the peer level
  • Manages their own work or their teams effectively to achieve goals
  • Coordinates with others in a team environment / listens to their POV
  • Utilizes the resources of their team and the overall department in order to achieve our goals
  • Shows consistency in words and actions

 Additional Responsibilities

  • Manage campaigns to meet client goals while providing outstanding customer service
  • Grow client relationships through leadership and continuous program improvement
  • Advance the services and practices of the Digital Marketing group through leadership of internal initiatives

 Could also include:

  • Conduct Social Media campaigns
  • Plan and execute Digital Display Advertising Campaigns
  • Create and optimize Paid Search campaigns
  • Perform Search Engine Optimization – Improve ranking for top keywords through:


  • Strong familiarity with Engagement Marketing Platforms such as: Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Pardot, Marketo, Eloqua, IBM Watson, HubSpot, etc.
  • Fully understands the data landscape and how to build/justify attribute marketing/automation programs through to the user experience
  • Working knowledge with Integrations/Migrations and how to present and manipulate data from external (third party) /internal CRMs
  • Enterprise CRM experience (e.g., Salesforce, MS Dynamics, etc.) preferred
  • Salesforce Certification preferred
  • Must work well with teams and have a positive, goal-oriented attitude
  • Candidate must be detail-oriented, organized and an efficient time manager
  • Able to be flexible and tolerate ambiguity while still operating effectively
  • Experience using MS Office tools (esp. Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) necessary
  • Ability to lead account relationship, define campaign performance objectives and ID strategies to meet
  • Apply learnings/market knowledge to help define client strategies and inform agency growth potential
