Technical Project Manager

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for defining business, functional and CMS experience requirements for content management system site redesigns and builds or applications of similar complexity. This person works alongside the Director of Experience Integration and all project leads to ensure a seamless definition of project requirements and experience design as well as successful implementation of the defined strategic and user experience requirements. This person also supports the Director of Experience Integration to design, test and train clients on the implementation of their site or application.

Responsibilities 

  • Support the creation of project gap analysis and present to client prior to strategy kick off
  • Gather and document business requirements based on project discovery necessary to drive user experience and technical development of project
  • Transpose business requirements into functional and content management system or application requirements and support user experience to define user experience and functional requirements
  • Support the design of a content management system or application experience proof of concept in wireframe form or similar format and support tech in terms of vetting and development of a proof of concept
  • Support the development and presentation of the build reference guide which defines all backend functional requirements, front end animations and functionality, as well as content management system or application experience design as noted above
  • Provide support alongside Director of Experience Integration’s oversight for user experience and design teams to ensure site or application experience successfully translates during the front and back end technology build phase
  • Support technology to help vet feasibility and scope of user experience and creative design
    • Provide support alongside Director of Experience Integration’s oversight of technology lead to ensure all architecture and functionality are built to spec and client expectation
    • Support QA to ensure test cases match all intended inputs and outputs of the built experience. Support PM during QA handoff to ensure all components are delivered and tested by QA team
    • Own the creation of content management or related admin tool training documentation for small to mid-size projects
    • Attend and support client training meetings and facilitate feedback; work with PM/AM and tech lead to provide recommendations where needed to help drive client acceptance of built product
    • In addition to content management or admin user training, support client or internal team content migration development to answer questions and troubleshoot
    • Support site content population, module and page building

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years’ experience in digital landscape and agency work environment
  • Understanding of user experience within the digital landscape
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following development languages: HTML/CSS/JavaScript, PHP/.NET/JAVA
  • Experience in managing, building and/or populating CMS managed websites and/or relevant applications
  • Understanding of how content management systems work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in technical documentation development
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite and UX prototyping software such as Axure or Balsamiq are a plus
  • Demonstrates a passion for site or application development and an eagerness to adapt to complex and often ambiguous technical situations
  • Ability to review wireframes and designs and deconstruct them to define how they could be built within a CMS
